Giridhar C. Kamath, DO
Board-certified in family practice, Dr. Kamath chose Urgent Care due to its procedural aspects, including suturing, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal (skin, cornea, ears). A ’00 graduate of NYCOM (now known as NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine), he comes from a diverse medical background, having served in the ER, primary care, and occupational medicine.
Dr. Kamath chooses to practice medicine in a responsible manner by avoiding the use of antibiotics for treatment of viral infections and ordering tests only when helpful. He prescribes generic medications when possible in the attempt to keep medical care affordable.
Dr. Kamath is a USCIS-designated civil surgeon (a physician who performs immigration physicals), a certified medical examiner (a physician, NRCME-registered, who performs DOT physicals), and a former medical review officer (a physician who reports the results of drug screens).
